We welcome all skill levels to our pottery classes, wheel-throwing classes, clay classes, and handbuilding classes at our studio in Cheyenne! 

 

Join us for an adult pottery or wheel-throwing class, make memories at a pottery class for kids, or refine your skills at one of our intermediate or advanced classes.

Intro to Wheel Throwing

2 Tuesdays of every Month

Get your hands dirty with a fun and interactive introduction to wheel throwing. This one-time 90 min. session will provide the basics of how to center and pull walls. Students may keep up to two of their favorite pieces to be fired and glazed.
CLASS FEE INCLUDES CLAY, STUDIO GLAZES,
FIRING and BASIC TOOLS.
Minimum age of 9 yrs.

Sip & Spin

Join us for a night of sip and spin (BYOB) as we walk you through the basics of wheel throwing! Sometimes it can be  nerve wracking to try something new, so relax with a beverage to sip and have some fun as the wheel spins! In this one-time 90 min. session your instructor will guide you through the basics of how to center the clay, pull walls and shape the clay using a pottery wheel. Students may keep up to two of their favorite pieces to be fired and glazed.
CLASS FEE INCLUDES CLAY, STUDIO GLAZES, FIRING and BASIC TOOLS.

All Levels Wheel Throwing

Class meets weekly - 4 sessions

This course's small class size allows our instructor to assist students and tailor individual lessons as needed to help you grow your skills with spinning clay. This course meets once a week for 4 weeks. Beginners will learn the basics of learning how to throw on the pottery wheel. We will start by building your confidence in centering to making fully functional pieces like mugs or bowls. We will then spend a session on surface treatments and glazing your favorite pieces. It's not as easy as it looks, but we know you can do it with a little help from our instructors. Our small class size benefits you with more one-on-one attention from the instructor and a chance to get to know each other.
CLASS FEE INCLUDES 12.5 lbs. CLAY, STUDIO GLAZES, FIRING & BASIC TOOLS

Forms & Surfaces Workshop with Shana Salaff

Two day workshop

10am - 5pm

July 22 & 23

$325 +tax

This workshop will be about playing with form and surface!  Shana Salaff will share her throwing and altering techniques as well as image and pattern generation and application. Participants will have the opportunity to explore throwing and altering as well as be presented techniques to develop their own visual vocabulary via a unique exercise intended to spark image and pattern generation.

Shana Salaff is a well established ceramic artist, currently living and working in Fort Collins. She is a frequent contributor for "Pottery Making Illustrated" and "Ceramic Monthly." With a Masters Degree in Fine Arts, she teaches classes and workshops, encouraging her students to develop and grow in their creativity.

Fairy House

Join us for a one-time experience learning how to hand-build a unique Fairy House! Make it a couples night or come flex your creative muscles! All levels welcome. All materials, instructions, and tools to personalize your fairy house will be provided. Choose your glaze at the end and we will call you after the final firing. Please allow 3 weeks for the process to be complete.

For Volunteer's of America
